Communion Dresses on sale in Stoneybatter

IF ANY of you stopping by here are having a Communion this year particularly those with wee girls, Grants of Stoneybatter are selling Communion dresses for €50.

Having been through one of those days a few years ago I can tell you it is more than expensive and I didn't even go mad. Dresses at that time went from £150 upwards and that is not to mention the shoes, veil, gloves and all the other little bits of paraphernalia. And no I am not talking about Cinderella coaches, sun beds and make up. Presumably there will be someone who will be delighted with a beautiful dress at a fraction of the normal cost.

Anyway they are available at the moment at Grants of Manor Street, phone number (01) 679 1626.

Bless your frilly socks! My daughter's making her communion this year and I've been coweing from my bank statements whilst wondering how the heck I'm going to keep up with Shonaghs.

Cheers!

Of course, you could save a fortune if you decided not to bring your children up within a system of superstition, lies and discrimination. Also, the practice of dressing little girls up in mini wedding dresses only acts to condition them in the direction of their future roles as brides. It's hardly an advertisement for intelligence, let alone feminism. Uugh!

Nay: Delighted this might help someone :) And even more delighted at the quick response.

The Great Wee Azoo: Who rattled your cage this good morning ;)

I never thought I would have the Young Wan eh communed, but she wanted to and that was that. She didn't look like a mini bride at all, but there are some scary websites showing little mini brides in what appears to be vera wang type frocks. That is nearly as frightening as the awful faux 19th century riding outfit dress complete with tilted white top hat. (Apologies to anyone who either loved that or wore it)

Anyway nice to hear from you, even if you are complaining ;)
