Photomeet anyone ? (Dublin - May 17 or 18th)
EDIT: MAY 12 @3.30PM
We now have a date and time for the photomeet thanks to Caitriona's suggestion of a car boot sale.
When: 1pm, May 17th
Where: George Bernard Shaw pub (see where on google maps), Portobello (we'll meet out the front - no early drinking please ;)
Let me know what you think in the comments. The plan would be to wander around the car boot, we could then wander down the canal before retiring for some pints, and then later pints with Alexia.
Claire, John, Phil, WillKnot, Darragh and I were twittering the other day about another Photomeet. Are you interested? The date we agreed on is in two weeks time, May 17th or 18th. As for where and what so far we have a blank page and are open to suggestions.
As with the last time, this is open to anybody who wants to come along, learn a little, have some fun and meet with other snappers. We may even do the 'how many pics have we taken in total' game again...
So come on let me know if you are interested and if you have any burning photography desires that we may satiate that weekend (ie any ideas on what we could do). Leave any thoughts in the comments. You can also check out images from the last photomeet we did during the Irish Blog Awards weekend.

How proficient a photographer do we need to be?
@The Crabling Otter - wanting to take photographs would be the only criteria I can think of. Everyone is welcome from absolute amateurs to pros :)
I would love to but have a wedding on the 17th and will probably be in no fit state on the 18th! Looking forward to seeing the photos though!
I'd love to go. Can I bring a friend with a camera in tow?
I might send a Toyboy!
as said before count me in.
Would love to attend this. I couldn't make the one before the blog awards.
I would love to come but am out of the country that weekend. Next time I hope!
confused. thought i'd already commented in the affirmative. anyway - deffo!
as for potential locations, there's a carboot sale behind the bernard shaw (nr. portabello) on the same day that i wanted also to get to. we could combine the two?
Defo hoping I can make it :)
Looks like we'll have a good crowd for this.
@WillKnot of course you can bring someone, bring as many as you'd like.
@GrannyMar thats no problem either ;)
@Katherine and Debbiemet: thats a pity, but I'm sure we'll have a lot more over the next while.
@Darren and McAWilliams excellent see you there
@Caitriona the carboot sale sounds good to me. I'll also bring your lomo (still havent used it yet) and we can have a go with it that day. I also found a russian medium format camera I forgot I had, I'll bring that too. Which day is that Caitriona?
And what does everyone else think? We could wander around the canal after that before hitting a nearby pub :)
so does that mean belfast is off the cards? Dublin does suit me better tbh and canal +pub is a winner for me
@McAWilliams I had in the impression that a Belfast meet was in addition to... I do think it will be entirely possible to organise one in Belfast in the coming months.
One was flagged earlier for Belfast which is happening at the end of the month.

I would love, love to go! Have never been to one before.
Would it be OK if I too brought a camera-wielding friend?
the carboot sale is the 17th (oops - didn't notice there was a choice of dates!) more info here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=37685620561
Any idea what time RM?
I'll try to make it. was on my first Flickr meet last Saturday (was great fun) then Andy mentioned this one. I love taking photos, especially somewhere different (for me).
Hop to see y'all there.
Cheers.
Brilliant idea of the car boot sale, I'd say there'll be tonnes of interesting things to see! I'll be there...can't wait :)
Any chance in the lot of you allowing a respectful and energised 'Merkan with a penchant for photography and the arts to join in the fun? :)
I'll be in the area on Saturday, and I'd love to join your photomeet. :)
@Jefferson Davis: of course you are welcome, the more the merrier. Looking forward to meeting you on Saturday, I think I may need to bring name tags...
Thanks for organising this, RM. It was a great day. I think you talked the sun into popping out too! :)
Good Job! :)
